I though it might happen today. There's a cordless phone in that little box. All protected from the elements yet easily accessible AND it'd NOW identified as a phone box.
If only 1/5 of the cucumbers product I'm be in a lot of pickles.
I've reached the age where 'happy hour' is a nap. NOT!
Last night during Happy Hour as we were enjoying a plate of various cheeses and crackers Shorty came in with a “to go” box in his hand. They had just returned for dinner out. There had been a mix up in their order and ended up with excess deep fried shrimp. They have a distinct distaste for leftovers which occasionally enriches our evening diet. Again it happened. We gladly accepted the shrimp and added them to our Happy Hour plate. A very unexpected treat.
Oh Darn, a trip to the hardware store is called for. I try to minimize those. They create a strain on my budget especially toward the end of the month. BUT sometimes, well you know. We have, in the past, had problems with having a phone easily accessible to the courtyard. The problems were usually moisture related. Ah but alas I believe I have a cure! I picked up an all weather metal electrical box (garage sale). It was brand new but totally empty about 6” x 10”tall. After a trial run of placing a cordless auxiliary phone inside the box and closing it I called that phone from another one. I really didn’t expect it to ring as I thought the metal box would disrupt the signal. Not at all. Now that box adorns one of the support posts for the courtyard cover and contains the cordless phone. I may even get around to painting an old phone logo on the cover. I need some rubber cement to affix my stencil to the box so that I can spray paint the logo on. That and a small bag of potting soil are my reason for a hardware store run. Potting soil? You bet I’m going to try to raise cucumber plants from seed. You can easily understand the importance of a hardware store visit, right? (chuckle)
