Yesterday morning my mind was occupied. This situation, not being the norm you understand, disrupts the routine. It seems that it was not an easy day for a number of folks. Thoughts and prayer for them continue.
Garden time at “old #5.” I plowed the South 40 yesterday. That being the 40+ sq. ft. of garden in the back yard and the plow being my long handled spade. Three tomato plants were acquired as well as some local experience and suggestions. Two Early Girls and one Better Boy plants should subject the weather provide a kick start to the season. The Legacy series aren’t ready to sell yet so it seems that again I’ll end up with several plants this year. One suggestion from the grower was to use a light application of Epson Salts to the ground around each plant and water it in. This treatment is recommended monthly. I’m not sure if that’s a local thing or not. I probably will give it a “go” this year. It’s nice to buy from the same folks who raised the plants and also be able to ask questions and hear their remarks. They were also kind enough to give me a half dozen ½ gal. starter containers. I guess I’m stuck with growing more cacti (smile). Strictly for entertainment I suppose. I probably could sell a few but I really doubt the price would much more than cover the materials.
