There’s a trip the junk yard scheduled for this morning. Shorty is looking for a return load for trailer and I need a couple small things for the Ford and a lot of things for the Scout. I don’t expect to find anything for the Scout due to its age but the Ford parts are numerous. Most parts for it interchange between Ford Mercury and Lincoln for several years. Shorty’s daughter ( up there in the Windy City) has a 90’s something, something or other that needs a front clip. It’s needed it for a couple years I guess but he’s never found on back in the Midwest that isn’t rusty.
I took some new pictures of the garden yesterday but haven’t gotten around to uploading them. I know you can hardly wait (chuckle). It’s been a very long time since I was around gardening from seeds so I’m a little unsure about some of the plants. Cucumbers and potatoes when they are only an inch tall are pretty hard for me to distinguish. I think that by the time they are ready to transplant to their permanent spot I’ll have a clue. The last REAL garden I had was in Maysville IA. It was behind “The Station” and that ground hadn’t been turned for almost 50 years. Great growing but hard plowing and weeding.
As many blooms as we have on the tomatoes. IF the weather holds we could be enjoying them in a few weeks along with Romaine Lettuce. Take a while longer on the cucumbers and potatoes for sure. The garden grew but my irrigation system didn’t- Yet! It’s no big deal using a hose or a watering can but having a system in place is slick. Not too much work for the rewards but a few bucks. Some of the investment I’ve already made but some more is on hold till Well for now.
