Clear skies and 53 degrees and climbing, is the atmospheric report from “old #5.” I’ll be getting tools, jack and jack stands out and HOPEFULLY organized to minimize the number of trips down, under, back out and up to the shop today. It’ll be an hour or so before its warm enough for my old hands to work with tools but preparation is a good thing usually. Yes folks it’s freeze plug day for the Scout. I‘ll tolerate the leaking radiator for a while if I have to but I need it ready to do the grocery runs etc. The freeze plug isn’t just leaking; it’s running freely out from the lower end of the engine block. So refilling it occasionally does not work. The time has come when the Ford has to have attention or I’ll be bumming rides all the time.
Oh Yeah-the Scout turn signals canceling issue remains. I went back through it and I’m sorry to say that I think the aftermarket parts were not exactly a perfect application so I’ll live with it for now.

After a frost a week or so ago and a couple of prolonged showers the cottonwood tree next door has just about blanketed the front yard with soggy leaves. They will probably remain for a while because there’s a few million more still on the tree that are totally yellow to brown that just haven’t fallen YET. When the time comes, that project will keep me out of the pool halls for at least a day.
The fun has begun

A little closer?

Now the hole is enlarged ready to TRY to pry the freeze plug out.
Break Time
