Yesterday when I said I was going under the Ford I didn’t mean for it to mow me down and run over me. Yet it did - figuratively. The new idler arm and pitman arm are on but the cotter pin won’t go in the idler arm castle nut. Sounds like a simple thing, right? It couldn’t get much more simple except I want to know WHY it won’t. Mirrors, lights and bifocals don’t provide a good visual indication of a problem and by late afternoon yesterday my brain had knocked off for the day before I realized it. Finally a message was received by my body from my brain –“Knock off before you hurt something!” Message received and acknowledged, compliance was almost immediate after picking all the tools etc. There was rain forecast for today but has now been postponed till this evening. I’m going to run a diagnostic procedure to verify that brain and body are in communication and agreement on how or if to proceed.
Test results remain inconclusive.
