I hope everyone’s Wednesday is going well and the congregation all answered “Amen.” Right? I’m going pretty slow this morning – imagine that. No problem just slow.
I guess there isn’t much to report this morning. Last evening I was sitting out in the courtyard and thinking “I have to get started on this mess- the paint on the beams and underside of the roof is pealing so badly that large pieces of old paint are falling off when the wind blows. I mentioned it to Bill the other day and he said “well it shouldn’t be hard to scrap then.” Ha, right Bill. I was seriously thinking that I would get up and get going today. I did- right to the coffee pot. I’m thinking that when this excessive heat wave is over I’ll get right on it. Yep long about Sept. I really don’t mind it but paint prep’ing and paint is not a good idea right now. The paint chips stick to everything including the scraper operator and you can’t get to a drip fast enough to wipe it up before it dries. Good Job Crusty you talked yourself out of that really well and quick too.
I need to harness up my old brown mule (Scout) and go get some drinking water. I suppose I should get a little extra as it IS August and I do drink my water this time of year especially. Now folks, that is exciting stuff around here. That and taking something out of the freezer to thaw and keeping close watch on it while it does. (chuckle)
My company yesterday turned out to be Sherry’s nephew and niece. It’s been a while since I had company here- I realized just before they got here that there was ONE soft drink in inventory. Well that ain’t right but it’s easy to fix so I did. Tab gave me the “you ought to have a dog” thing and I agreed except for the HAVING to walk it regardless of how you feel, going to the vet, cleaning up the back yard and not being able to leave it alone for any period of time. Those are pretty heavy negatives for me. It was all a great time for me.
The Moss Roses that I put in back in late spring are really struggling. Most are still surviving but I’ve lost some too. I suspect I’ll try some replacements in fall and they have longer to root and get established before summer. They looked very nice when they were all blooming.
Time to move on to SOMETHING old Crusty-
