It’s been extremely busy around “old #5.” Well that statement needs to be placed in perspective- It’s been extremely busy relative to the typical pace around “old #5.” The busy has been productive for several folks and hasn’t been a real problem except now I’m on a roll and don’t want to ease up but I’d really like to ease up-I expect that too unusual a condition but it’s been a really long time since I have dealt with it so drastically. The Scout sits in back, normally that’s no problem, no sweat but it’s sitting in front of Brad’s truck. He’ll be back in a week. An availability issue with the “correct” water pump could be an issue. Oh the issue isn’t that they don’t exist out there in the limited market- the question, is it the correct one, at what price and how soon can I get it. That’s actually a dumb statement when I consider it- That’s always the question for any purchase isn’t it?
Whoo – the coffee tastes REALLY good this morning and is going down way too fast – It’s not too big a deal I had my usual 3:00 AM sleepy feeding- a bowl of cereal. Good Grief Charley Brown- it’s 8:30 and I just starting to move -
Update to the water pump issues. It should arrive tomorrow about 3:00. I think that’s too late to start putting it back together but the mating surfaces are clean, the bolts are soaking in solvent and the area is LESS greasy than before. I tried and tried to remember when I changed it before and where I bought it. Absolutely no luck with remembering either. Oh Well- none of that matters anyway at this point. Autozone finally convinced me that I hadn’t bought it there (mostly), enough so that I went ahead and bought it there this time. That and their price was about the same was from Rockauto when I added the shipping. The shipping was a deal killer because THIS water pump is a chunk of iron meaning it’s like most stuff on the Scout, its HEAVY - PLUS next day availability. So if you’re not doing anything Friday stop by and help, sit around and B.S. or just watch me work-believe me that’s often funny & sometimes entertaining.
