Trailer check list- box finished and mounted to frame, wiring in place and functioning and tailgate latches in place and working. It’s getting close to tires, repack wheel bearings and license time. And then, And then, a trip to the landscaping rock yard. I think it will feel great to pull up and HAVE a loader dump granite into the box. For the last few years it’s been drive the Scout with a tarp in back, hand load the cargo area and come home to reverse the process. 1/3 ton of granite is a major issue to load and unload by hand for an old timer. Usually I did it in an afternoon just because I might be just a tad bull headed about it. Some of that bull headedness might have gotten worn down and used up the last month or so without even loading any rock. I’m not sure I’d do it all over again, the trailer thing, but it’s done for now, almost. I wouldn’t even try to make a trip without better tires and license plates well I don’t do that kind of foolishness ANYMORE.
The schedule says we recoat the open patio floor this week. We’ll see how/if that plays out. If it were just the recoating the floor I’d have already done it but it’s the preparation –scrapping and roughing up the surface etc that’s the hardest for me. I guess I’m compelled to do stuff like that just to remind me I ain’t a youthful 60 anymore and in fact I can’t even remember being youthful at any age.
