Whoo I noticed I missed a Friday post! That was probably appropriate considering the whining and complaining I did Thursday. I apologize for that. It sort of sneaks out sometimes- I tried complaining to the cactus and got stuck with thorns - another “not great idea”. Things really are OK here – I just slip off into a mood once in a while.
The Ford has different battery. $40 for a 90 day guaranteed used battery plus anytime in the 90 days I can return it and get the $40 back toward a new one. If I’m not confident that the coolant leak is taken care of then – Well that would be a totally different situation. I drove it yesterday morning and even stopped and visited with another cactus person and left it idling with the AC on full blast. The visit took longer than I expected so it sat there running for almost 20 minutes. Later I checked and it was still full of coolant. Good sign but I guess I’m not totally persuaded enough to make $125 investments (new battery) in it yet.
I’m ready to pull the last tomato plant- It looks almost dead. I think watering it a waste besides I don’t really like looking at it – pathetic. BUT the lemon bush has branches almost as tall as I am.
The last report I got was that Sherry’s kid’s dad was out of ICU and has a good chance of making it. It was looking pretty bad and all the normal stresses were at work in the situation plus maybe some extra. It all began with an accident during minor surgery. A reminder to all of us- “it’s not a question of IF but just when.”
Interesting to me- I had been waking up chilly and grabbing covers on the middle of the night. To most that wouldn’t be anything to give a second thought to but remember my thermostat is set at 90 degrees 24/7. It gets up to 91 and cold air comes out, it drops to 89 and it shuts off. Works for me – 90 is as high as the thermostat can be set. Mine is setting on a shelf just for such occasions – I moved it to a lower shelf (the direction of cooler air) and, at least last night, no problem. I didn’t wake up hot or cold. Maybe one small problem is off the horizon. Another one of those monumental issues/challenges rectified. (chuckle). Oh go ahead and laugh- I’m just being a crazy old man and doing it pretty well – at least the crazy part.
