Another day – not bad at all. The things I wanted to get done mostly didn’t get done and guess who’s responsible for that sorry situation? (chuckle) Things that “sort of” needed to get done DID get done – some of them. It was cool here- kept my sweatshirt on all day and still am glad to have it on. It looks like one more day of cooler here than the Midwest and things might get back to a little normal both places- Whatever THAT means.
Shirley (the partner’s lady) goes in for outpatient tests tomorrow and whatever the outcome things are likely to change around here. If there’s anything serious at all they’ll be headed back to IA ASAP. If it’s nothing serious they’ll probably stay till April 1 + or – a day or two. Through the years we’ve all become kind of extended family after the first few tremulous partnership years. Prayer is invited on her behalf.
No new plies of firewood here! I just didn’t want to get down under a small trailer with electrical testers and lights today looking for a short in the passenger side brake/signal light. A re-check of inventory indicates I’m good though the weekend with firewood and as cool as it is tonight I ?may? forego a fire totally OR NOT and if NOT - throw an extra log on the fire. (chuckle)
Breakfast with Kurt. It’s become a tradition of sorts. No set schedule but usually from every couple of weeks to a month we get together. Who’d a ever thunk it? I still have most of the National Marketing Research records – don’t ask me why – except Sherry went to a lot of trouble years ago to get some of them in reasonable order. She paid special attention to graphic materials and contacts that I’d worked on/with. That was back in the day of hand scanners and manual proof readers and printing was done two color at a time etc. Oh and OCR (Optical Character Reader) was something I wished for. Oh there was something “called” that but it was primarily from a marketing perspective and NOT a functional perspective. It existed it just didn’t work- well – much- etc. Now that my friends is wondering far from “being low on firewood” – but then I have two specialties – wondering and wandering, subject matter relativity suffers rapidly. (chuckle) Just read the previous paragraph and experience “wondering and wandering” first second hand.
I started to get philosophical AGAIN – back to Kurt- He (his firm “Scribe Software”) was a client of National Marketing Research since 1991 or 92. Through the years our friendship grew and his family became almost family to me also, still, only more so. What a Blessed and unexpected journey that has been- STILL!
OK, I’ve wondered and wandered enough for this evening and hope you held on to some extent.
