I found a “new to
me” kitchen faucet set at a thrift store yesterday- $6.99. The
shocking thing was that it was something I’d actually been looking
for. My old Price-Fister has been repaired and glued so many times
that I’m disgusted with it and really tired of RE-fixing it. The
real problem with it is that the pull-out head was plastic and age
had taken it’s toll. If I had the water on too strongly it was
shower time for me and a portion of the kitchen. Well, all things
considered it doesn’t owe me anything- it was a “take out” from
a remodel job with Adam many years ago. I looked the “new to me”
set over and found one seal missing – missing no longer and a lot
of mineral deposits. The seal was .35 and the minerals should be gone
after soaking in vinegar over night. Now to find someone to climb
under the sink and change them. Oh wait a minute that honor will
likely be MINE. I’m really glad I cleaned out that space a short
time ago – a short enough time ago that it isn’t piled and
crammed full again yet. AND I was even able to lay my hands on a
faucet wrench that I was pretty sure I still had but hadn’t SEEN in
ages. Now to actually tackle the job of changing it out!
Shorty is back to making jewelry trees from old lamps and Brad SAYS his van will be finished today. Both of these things are “good things.” Shorty enjoys making the jewelry trees and Brad’s stuff has about taken over the courtyard (bike repair area & storage currently) and vehicle repair area – Does all that sound like I’m complaining again? Oh Yeah I guess I am.
