I got off to a pretty good start today. I ‘bug bombed’ the basement & crawl space, I started “Shorty’s” car and let it run to operating temperature and I sprayed all the little teeny tiny weeds sprouting up from the granite after our rain last week and I tried ‘Logan’s Steakhouse’ for a very late lunch. Join me as I jump in at the very late lunch report- ‘Logan’s Steakhouse’ I’d read customers reports for a while in the past. Extremely diverse from “never again’ to “wonderful.” That and their “Burger and Brew for $10” convinced to finally try it. On a scale of 1 – 10 I’d rank it a solid 4. The burger (meat & prep) I ordered as “very pink inside” was slightly pink and an OK piece of ground beef. The BBQ sauce, mushrooms, and bacon were quite good. The French fries I’d rank as a 3. Service I was very pleased and impressed with – Nice young folks doing an excellent job, the music wasn’t too loud and it was a nice place. I perused their regular menu and was shocked ! Their regular prices for steaks was a lot more than I’d risk based on the prep of the burger but then I am cheap. Also I do know the cost of reasonably good steaks even though I rarely have one. I almost always watch for good ones. Well that’s more than enough for my restaurant review. Would I return – maybe for a $10 burger, fries and brew- the draft Sam Adams was as it should be & served appropriately.
Cheap & picky are a pair of deuces in a high stake game. Hard to make it work well.
Later I decided that a trip to the Legion was called for. Another of those late afternoons when I don’t want to start anything else and I don’t want to revert to my usual B, B & B yet. Yep a visit to the local Post was fine. BUT Yes there seems to often but a “but” to a lot of things. I had driven the Mercury and on the way home I became REALLY Thankful it’s only a few blocks. My headlights went out! That had happened once before but I fiddled with the switch and got them back on. Not this time! A couple of flashes but not working. I was sure glad I only had a few blocks to get home. I ran with the flashers on for my & others safety and made it without intervention by those who would be sure to intervene. Some research, after I got home, indicates that it’s a common problem with that particular make & model. Even though it’s old it does have a totally electronic dash. Everything is digitized therefore a new switch isn’t a happy thought (do-able not a major challenge) but it’s the installation that haunts me. Dashes & doors I don’t do well. Well I’ll confess I don’t do well with anything that new AND IT’S 23 years old. Way too nice to let things go or be sloppy or save a few bucks. Goin ta have get her fixed!
All in all a good day. I could have done without the headlight issue but Hey With All I have to be Thankful for, still a good day.
Whoo it’s nine thirty PM. NOW I remember what filled the middle of my day- renegotiating with my cable, land line and internet provider (it’s a bundling thing). Every year I go through it. I say, never again, but . . . It’s just stressful and I’m never sure it’s right thing to do.
