Referring back to Wednesdays post “I feel more “at home” here than I’ve ever felt anywhere?” Upon thinking about that - I’ve lived in this building longer than I ever lived in any state if you consider uninterrupted residence. I’ve certainly lived at “old #5” a lot longer than I’ve lived in ANY one place. Some of the best times and also the worst time. I guess it’s not so strange to have a strong connection. Old #5 has gone from a boarded up foreclosed on building without ANY offers in a semi slum to an almost palatial status. Ha Ha Ha Well that may be something of an exaggeration - no that’s a prize exaggeration yet very comfortable and the neighborhood has done pretty well also. Unfortunately I can see some 5+ story buildings closing in now and the traffic is almost a constant background noise. But I even have friendly neighbors who speak and stop to visit or offer to help with projects. My best description of the future here at “old #5” can be summarized by “Know anyone who’d like a winter home in Mesa AZ with full time maintenance and security” who’d be willing to buy out my business partner? Did I mention 2 blocks from Downtown Mesa – shops, places to eat and the Arts & Entertainment Center? I’m ‘sort of kidding’ because I still have hopes of buying him out myself but it’s a challenge and an uncomfortable position and maybe not possible. My description is “it’s going to be interesting”. That may be a REAL understatement.
The real purpose of this post is for me to redefine my position and clarify some possible options.
Thanks for your attention and any comments or . . .
Other than that issue things are going well – I have body mounts for the Scout ordered, engine mounts are here, Next is to chase a carb. kit. Yeah It’s still been hit a few times, have straight pipes and ugly but it’s a blast to drive AND (directed to seniors) ya ain’t got time to let your attention wonder – twix clutching, shifting – remembering to turn the signals off - and listening for unusual sounds and stomping on the gas peddle every chance you get. Ha Ha Ha
