Another holiday weekend successfully enjoyed and some Thanks given. Time with a number of folks whose company is rare was also part of the weekend. One whose report on the conditions in US Cuba was not very uplifting though. The word is that our ?prisoners? there are enjoying conditions that include things that some of us aren’t able to afford and live in advanced luxury. Sorry situation when our military officials have to be more concerned with their political future than doing a good job. I know that not a new thing but it’s still deplorable.
On a happier note I was able to visit with an old friend whose 70’s birthday party will be enjoyed soon. Besides getting older myself (along with all you folks) it’s difficult to believe that a contemporary is that age. He certainly doesn’t look or act it though and works 50 hours a week at least. Maybe the best part of the working deal is he enjoys it.
I have internet in the bar. Cabling in place and functioning. The old computer three isn’t up to most of what I want it to do – more accurately said it’s operating system isn’t up to the task. We’ll figure out something as time goes along and “man oh man” does time go along. The next focused project is renovation of an outside heater. It wouldn’t stay lit (propane) so I’m guessing it’s the thermo coupling. Not available is the reason I ended up with it but it’s generic item so I figure I can get one that will work. The unit had been blown over a few times so some body work will be needed also. I’d like to able to repair it and return it to it’s original owner because I really don’t need another one and he does. We’ll see how that plays out.
