Old computer + old man = lost time. Chuckle Bet you couldn’t figure that out. For now I plan to leave it alone at least for today. Give my frustration level a while to re-establish it’s self. I’m a real sucker for certain types of challenges. Next on the immediate agenda is return to the outside space heater. In between yesterday’s bouts with the old computer I proceeded with the heater project. Some dis-assembly was required. Indeed it does/did have a “tip over” safety switch. I got very interesting reading from a continuity check. Sometimes I had resistance and sometimes not but if the switch was turned horizontal I never had reading. Conclusion- It was reliable. “Was” because it broke while being tested AND it’s a complication to the contraption. The thermocouple is a two wire one with one wire being switched by the thermocouple. I’m not looking to spend much money on this project or spend much money on anything else much. I’m thinking of replacing the thermocouple with a generic type much like ones used on water heaters and some ranges. The function is exactly the same and they appear to use the same kind of fittings. I hope there’s some propane left in my smoker tank.
Sherry is preparing to go to Yoga class at the “Y.” I’m really happy for her and hope she enjoys the class. Yoga isn’t new to her but I hope the atmosphere and instructor make it interesting. She doesn’t have much in the way of outside interests (off property) and cabin fever has some less than desirable side effects. I use trips to the hardware store, the used building material store and occasionally a stop at the Legion for my outside diversions. For some unknown reason she has no interesting in accompanying me on those. Can you imagine that?
