Happy, Merry, Joy filled, Wondrous, Thankful Christmas Eve Did ya miss me yesterday? I was missing in action you know? Or maybe you didn’t notice- now I’m really hurt (chuckle). I got busy early and stayed that way for a while. By the time I was squared away I was distracted with relaxing. It must be holidays here or something- there’s strange activity in the kitchen. Sherry has cookies going and a special casserole underway. The changes of life style that accompanies the passing of years has left her with a bit of nostalgia I think. I’ll admit that even happens slightly to old crusty occasionally. I’m sort of staying around in case the old cranky oven doesn’t want to light easily- well that a nibble of some the bits and pieces of stuff that come my way. The down side to that is one bite of bacon (ingredient in her casserole) just isn’t very satisfying, but I’ll make do with it in honor of her creativity in the kitchen. I did have some Christmas cookies already this morning thanks to the Alton branch of the clan plus a very faithful mailman who knocked on our door late yesterday. He also brought some fine pictures of some beautiful grandkids to lighten the atmosphere around here. Pretty cool! There was another item in the box that brought an actual outright laugh- Oooh Poncho, Oh Cisco. Sherry couldn’t believe I used to watch then on TV. I probably saw every episode and will likely watch them again. Just as an experiment to verify I haven’t totally lost my highly developed and acute sense of humor. Enjoy the season especially those younger folks who hopefully will be excited and thrilled with their new acquisitions.
