Yesterday just after posting here that I’d be going to VA in the afternoon the phone rang. The young lady introduced here self and said “you’re probably not going to like this but your doctor called in sick this morning.” I responded with something to the effect of “OK I understand, what’s the plan?” She said the next open slot was March 2 but if that was a problem to say so and she’d fit me in when I wanted. I think she was ready for me to go ballistic, I didn’t. “Not necessary – I’ll see you on the 2nd. “ I believe she was shocked and I understand that. I know VA has some real problems but they have done well for me. Much like the Fed gov., the problems start at the top and filter down rapidly. That’s my opinion anyway.
Now I’m embarrassed as I just checked my calendar and noticed that I forgot to put the time in.
I got most of my domestic duties completed yesterday. I quit in the dressing room because I want to make some changes there. The trouble is I’m not sure what I want to do. The real problem is too much stuff. It’s a terrible fate that I’m ill equipped to deal with. (chuckle) I mean who would ever part with a 2 button 100% Scottish wool herringbone tweed sport coat from the mid sixties, still in good condition? Not me obviously. That’s just ONE example among many. There are even a few pairs of socks from Class “A” dress uniform days with no holes; they are getting a little thin but. . .
