I was sort of thinking about going inside and further considering checking the TV (with practically no expectations). After last night’s storm that resulted in lots of downed trees close by, all my shade tarps damaged and 2+” of rain but the real problem for lots of folks was/is downed power lines. I’ll accept my cleanup and tarps and not gripe and complain. (I just demonstrated my exceptional talent for digressing didn’t I?) I wondered outside the fence for a better view of the sky and saw a dark blue sky with a few large clouds. Just as I was thinking it felt nice minus last evening’s wind & driving rain I noticed some faint light flashing in the Southern sky. That was just a few minutes ago and now those faint flashes are a full blown impressive lightening show. It’s still too far away for me to hear thunder but the lightening is approaching rapidly. A check of local radar clearly shows another storm about 15 miles south but that isn’t all. There are several other storms (8 on one radar screen) are pretty much all around the southern end of the valley and headed north. If I had to go to work in the morning I’d probably just head for the house and get ready to sleep but – not having to do so I’ll likely stay up a while and see how it plays out. I AM glad that I didn’t get all excited about cleaning up and repairing from late night’s storm today. A walk outside just now verified I made a good judgment call (I’d better mark this down in my calendar) about the cleanup and repair. The wind is picking up significantly even with the storms being a fair distance away yet. I think I will go throw the power switch to the outside circuits to the courtyard kitchen and shop BEFORE the rain arrives.
