Woops AGAIN ! I wonder what happened yesterday. Could it have been having company at “old #5” to have coffee with outside? I wouldn’t be surprised. I hope their ears aren't worn out from my BS. Fun
I believe the witch’s brew I found on the internet does actually work on mealy bugs attacking the cacti and now I’m trying it on the Bougainvillea. Something has been partaking of its leaves at a rapid rate. I’m not worried about them killing either species of plants but they do harm the plants and the cacti don’t grow well sharing their nutrients and water. I don’t know of how the brew could be vary harmful to any plant but then I’m not really knowledgeable on such subjects. In spite of that I’ll share the ingredients in case you ever need it for anything. Natural soap made from lye (no detergent), Cayenne Pepper and water. A few (4-6) ounces of the soap in a gal. of water and a few tablespoons of pepper and shake it up baby. Spray liberally early in the day so it has more time to be absorbed by the tiny critters molesting your plants. The soap is fairly available yet very difficult in locate in stores. It’s not cheap as in $20+ per qt. but a qt will make a lot of spray. Oh and don’t use a good grade of Cayenne pepper- it won’t make it work any better I don’t think. That’s my gardening tip of the year (or longer).
I was soaked through by the time I was finished. 108 headed for 113 here today. Now it’s a shower, a snack and off to get my eyes checked. Yeah I know they are still there but I think they need a little different prescription plus an annual check up. If I proceed and don’t get distracted I have plenty of time to prepare and get there on time but that distracted thing is always a possibility when I’m involved. It’s about the last thing I do WELL. Get distracted that is (chuckle)
