Another holiday weekend has just about passed. I really hesitate to use that expression “passed” but indeed it is no longer with us and won’t return. No I don’t plan on going down a memory road or get morbid. I don’t plan to but beware; it’s not too uncommon for me to end up venturing a little off my planned route.
Bill did his traditional pork ribs today. I think it has to do with paying me back for being voted the Master of rids twice in clan cook-offs. I don’t think I’d challenger him now. Not really but it is a fun point of contention, if there is such a thing.
As for my Holiday weekend it was mostly yard work. My back yard yesterday including trimming bushes and today trimming Lantana for Dawn. I planted them and knew if they got trimmed who would have the pleasure. A pleasure it is too. I actually went by the “suggested book” and they are explosive as their neighbor says. Mine here do OK but nothing like hers. I used a lot of good soil and fertilizer and ground additives to hers. She’s never had flowers and really likes them but much like her mother they didn’t seem to like them. I’ll have to say as much as Bill dislikes yard work he does make sure they get watered. All that following my Friday night outing “uptown” as mentioned in a previous post.
All things considered it was good for a holiday.

OK I’ve tried the medical industries’ sleep and pain aids AGAIN and as of right now I’ve quit again. 10 days on it and I can’t see any benefit but I can tell you about bad dreams. Well not exactly dreams but being sort of asleep but aware of the dreams going on the only thing that kept me on them was the fact I was aware enough to KNOW they were dreams but not aware enough to wake myself up. I can even remember thinking about “what do I need to do to change my dream channel?” Ain’t that just plumb silly?
I ordered a new tarp for the shop/kitchen. Unfortunately I forgot I’d placed a “shopping basket” order for a white one instead of silver so when I went back to that web-site it automatically picked up on the shopping basket and that’s what I ordered. That’s OK – in winter it’s good to have a little extra light in both areas and in summer well I do need a little extra light to see well, just another of those little things that come with advanced maturity. I’ll live with it till next time and maybe longer. Besides my old tarp is still in one piece but several grommets are pulled out. The next big wind and I’ll be pulling pieces of it out of cacti. I really hate that!
I’m tired and “ye ole back” is complaining vigorously. May my employed readers have a good 4 day week and the rest of us “get her done” whatever that means to each of us.
