I didn’t so much as move the Scout today but I got a tailgate built and installed on the trailer. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah it wasn’t rocket science but it felt like it. I hadn’t been taking part in the design much as Shorty is or was a much better fabricator than I am. Mostly I was doing the grunt work. Cut this, put need screws all along here and hold this, grunt work, I’m really good at that as I usually know what is going to be needed next. We have to take it off the frame and put a kazillion more screws in from underneath, then paint everything, mount it to the frame and add lights. THEN get it titled & licensed. Hopefully I have enough money left to get a load or 27 of Granite for thin spots in the yard and the paths around “old #5.”
After a late afternoon break I finally planted the two tomato plants I got the other day.
OK I have lettuce and tomatoes in the ground and in 50-60 days I should have produce. Wish I had a bacon plant growing. . .
I’m tired again. I know I said that yesterday but about this time of day it happens and sometimes it feels drastic. (chuckle) On the definite plus side I put all my tools away BEFORE I played in the garden. The shop isn’t trashed so whatever I tackle tomorrow, I won’t be starting out behind the 8-ball.
I have been requested to do a BBQ Saturday for Shorty’s kids and friends. Just the meat so OK, I think. It’s been a VERY long time since I did a big cookout but with just dealing with the meat I should be OK. I just passed up a chance to participate in a pork shoulder cook-off (chuckle) I’m way out of practice and I don’t really want to risk my perfect record. It's the only thing I’ve ever had a perfect record at so it kind of special to me. That said in spite of the rumors of questions about the judges.
