The Ford is getting close to being functional again, I hope. I've changed a LOT of water pumps on lots of different kinds of vehicles and that old Ford might not the worst to do but it's WAY up there on the list. Then they threw in TWO metric bolts ( AC brackets ) that I'd forgotten about. It wasn't till I was using digging out a die to chase the threads that I thought to use a thread gauge.  Am I glad I thought to check them first - YES.
So I was setting the fan and starting to install  the belts when it downed on me - that AC/air pump/crank belt was noisy and had a small section damaged! Whoops "old son" don't even consider putting that sucker back on. It's way too hard and time consuming to change to NOT change it NOW. Guess what - the parts store that I usually patronize didn't have the right one. They located one a few miles away but it was dark by then. I went to get it and came home - I'm done for tonight. Well except for scrounging up something for supper, a very long HOT shower and some TV or reading- probably going to be TV as my eyes have worked hard enough today. See how considerate I am - now straighten up and behave (chuckle)
Both vehicles are due for servicing so once the Ford is running, leak checked and ready I plan to leave it on the jack stands and get out the old grease gun and drain pan. Those are my intentions anyway. (chuckle)
One of these days that wrenching stuff is going to have to change. I did find that jacking up the Ford about 10" in front made it much better. It IS a ghetto crusier AND the springs a little soft so it's low to the ground.  I have to remember that for future projects. Yeah Right!
Now the evening is slipping away as fast as the day did! I gotta eat and clean up- after eating the kitchen and myself too - I'd guess the ye ole bode will relish retirement.
