Well that didn't go as hoped - adding a second router to extend wifi coverage out to the courtyard & Crusty's Cavern. I returned the new router but not knowing for sure what the problem actually was. The computer that was attached to the second router couldn't get on line till I took the router out of the CCAT5 line to it. I did return the router just in time to get my money back though. Nothing but an hour or two lost AND that I didn't get done what I wanted to - Oh Gee - that's a new feeling (chuckle). I'm going to let that go for now and concentrate on a different computer in the house. Having  computers going on the same network but using different operating systems might be fine for techs but for grunts. All my most used "stuff" I has now been set up on the newer one and most of the files that I wanted made it to the newer one also. Why mess around with an old clunker running XP ?  My goal was simplification and improvement - doing that with an antiqued system in the mix doesn't make much sense to me, at this point. When simplification is the goal try to keep it simple.  Well it's a thought anyway. . .
I don't feel so bad after having a couple other knowledgeable people hear the noise I have in the Ford without them really having any idea what it is either. On the other hand it doesn't help either. I think the population of "old #5" will drop for a while I may get it in back and start seriously "checking it out." Shorty has a pretty nice serviceable vehicle to drive when he's here and Brad got most of what he wanted to get done on his van done tonight so I guess it's getting time for the old Ford, maybe. I may sneak in a load of firewood first - the bottle neck is getting the trailer in & out while another vehicle is UN-operable in the drive/work space. Yeah Yeah - over thinking again but OVER thinking is still usually an improvement over UNDER thinking, at least in my experience. Hum- come to think of it I'm not REAL sure about that (chuckle).
It's later than I thought- Good Night!
