All in all the dermatologist treated a bunch of spots and took one sample. That’s about the norm for me the last few years- Next surprise was when she was walking out the door she turned around and said “you are a great patient.” That’s just because she couldn’t hear my mind when that needle went into my back. No biggie – it’s just THAT SPOT on my back is maybe a tad sensitive (for the last 50 years). A 2:00 appointment ended at 4:30 and guess what time that is in central Phoenix? That’s when everyone is on the road headed somewhere else. Not a pretty sight from my old Crown Victoria. I could have taken 3 of them out at 3 different times and been legally right BUT . . . When it’s 5 lanes each way – well it would have been bad. One of the worst examples of driving I’ve seen in - - two of them - - probably ever. Makes NASCAR driving look like a Sunday family drive. Well except that 70 mph is a little different than 150-190 mph AND the number of people who would have been involved would have may times worse. I am now automatically on alert when a Lexus, MB or BMW are overtaking me on the highway. You may well understand better that when I got to downtown Mesa I was ready for a pint. The entire experience was improved when my Porter was set in front of me and guy got up and came over and said “Roger?” I knew his face but couldn’t place it with experiences- He explained we’d met last year when he was in town from Candida for the winter- OK I remembered. He and buddies were having a pint after golf – maybe two pints – chuckle. Fun time. I went out to the patio to have a smoke and ended up visiting with a couple from Eastern Iowa in town for sporting events (spring training etc.). Before that conversation ended Kevin from up the street saw me and came over – Darn ! He won’t even discuss selling his IH Traveler to me. (shock- NOT).
