Well yesterday DIDN’T go like I’d hoped. Just as I was warming up and getting started cleaning house I discovered my vanity drain stopper would NOT work. A problem in that area can go unnoticed and result in a leak under the sink. Not a place that I check daily. OK- No Big Deal !?!? Except the trend today seems to be replace the entire thing. That option does not stand at the top of my “Do it your self” “How To” directions. That’s down at the bottom just above “Throw up your hands and scream in frustration.” Specific parts are for the most part unavailable – You get a universal kit and try to make something work OR you resort to the replace entire section or device. I DO understand a tiny bit about businesses being “for profit” and that it’s a tough world out there especially in the hardware lines. Still that “one size fits all” doesn’t work so well, hardly ever. . .

Enough of all that suffice it to say when the tools were back in the shop and the drain worked it was time for a change of pace. Look out Cactus here he comes with a saw and a dumpster! Two 90 gal. dumpsters full almost to the top (after compacting) was the result- that and darkness. Cactus are so forgiving and I guess that is a REALLY good thing around me, If I “over trim” it just takes a little patience on my part and they will almost always forgive me and return to their natural state.
