It’s a fine evening, doors open trying to get a little cool fresh air inside. That was interesting. I hear a gentle knock on the courtyard gate. First thought Oh Oh what’s going on and who can that be? I make my way over to the gate quietly and ask “can I help you?” I recognize the voice as being a young man who sometimes lives next door with his mother in a tiny apartment. I’ve met him several times in the past. “Can I talk to you?” he says. Hum? ? I unlock the gate and let him in, ask him to take a seat and he begins – He wants to break the poor barrier and is 15 years old and going to school and working for a plumbing company. He wants to be rich and asks me how to do it. I barely resisted the urge to laugh out loud. I know him to be pleasant, well spoken & not stupid. Those are pretty good ways to start. I’m not sure he quite understands how things work and I know he doesn’t have any experience dealing with money, business or finance. A couple things impressed me besides realizing he thinks I’m wealthy and relative to his situation I guess I am. He communicates well, and is driven. Another couple of points for him. First off I clarified the wealthy part and then we got into a discussion about ways to get wealthy. I’m an authority because I’ve read the books, Ha Ha. I’m concerned for him as “he has a friend whose uncle owns businesses and invests in businesses in Vegas” who is coming to town to visit and he’s going to meet him. Smart, personable, wants riches badly AND has a Vegas contact, That’s a plot for a book, in fact I’ve probably read 30-50 books that that WAS the plot. Compared to research, library time, studying, observing and working hard on your way up, I think Vegas might win out. Too bad, too VERY bad. Even worse, he could go into politics. - - - - - Just kidding - - - - - sort of- - - - - Still too bad.
