8:30 PM Whoops, not watching the clock and the evening slipped away (again). BUT I got her done today. Well not totally done but. . . Something I’ve been putting off way too long – replacing the headlight switch in the Mercury. It’s in and works but I still need to put the dash back together. That’s all straight forward at this point “He says with maybe a touch of optimism.” When I first tested it I found that the parking, tail and marker lights, stayed on even after test driving it & parking and turning the lights OFF. It has a number of nice touches in the area of lighting and I was staining my brain trying to remember what they all did and how long they were supposed to say on. I know it wasn’t 15 minutes though. Long story improved with brevity- the new switch required a tiny bit more force when turning them off. Ha Ha Ha I was contemplating pulling the switch back out when I gave it a slight bit more pressure in the off position – That worked just fine and felt so good that I was compelled to do it 4 or 5 times just to be sure! (smile)There is about 20 machine screws that hold the coverings on the dash that have to go in and a bunch of plastic snap on parts but it works. It was getting dark, I hadn’t eaten since morning AND I was tired. NOW I really wish I’d have showered before eating. I’d sure like to climb in the sack but alas not in the condition I’m in, hot soapy water should further relax me and prepare me for some sleep. Night All
