7:00 PM
Tuesday evening.
I have word of great import to share.
My Laundry is DONE and my bed is re-made and awaiting my body to assume the horizontal position, soon!
OK for most that isn’t a spectacular event, for me it’s become something worth marking on my calendar. PLUS after a visit to “the club” (Legion) I have also prepared a ½ lb ground Brisket patty, the last of the Succotash and other culinary delights for a MORE than complete meal. MORE in two regards- quantity AND quality. I attest to the fact that I may have over reacted to the hunger I experienced and now it WILL be a short evening I’m sure. Very unlike last night when I got caught up in a book and kept throwing another log on the fire till after 11:00 PM. Such conduct is very unlike “old Crusty” yet seemed appropriate at the time. Even now after a short night and very busy day, it seems it was a good choice.
I’ve been camping trailer shopping again. I would really have liked to have bought the one I looked at Sunday afternoon. It involved a 60 mile trip EACH way and was everything I want and more plus the asking price was not a deal breaker. We could have and almost certainly would have gotten together EXCEPT it was a little large and heavy for the old Scout. I’d have had to spent more to prepare the old IH Scout (like there’s many newer ones- chuckle) for a long haul with mountains and a maxed out load between me and my destination and return. Then there was a history behind the trailer that kind of prohibited me from getting into ‘hard sell mode’ to make a deal (in this case “buy mode”). I’ve always had trouble with that but I’ve also pushed that little extra and been sorry after. I usually came out OK but. . . but then had to live with it (& me) afterwords. No Thanks.
Hammer down, eyes on the road. . .
