Did I just finish up another weekend? Yep, reckon so or at least really durn close to finishing it off. I am so glad to have finished it up WARM and with sympathy for those cold and concerned about getting home or to work in the morning. Been there. done that and THANKFUL to not face that. I don't ever seem to be able to forget one New Years when Sherry had her heart set on getting to the New Years Party with her entire family out at Hart's place on the Miss. River about 15 or 20 miles away. That night it might as well have been 1000 miles. Three ways out of town - 1 going north - to about as close to nowhere as you could get, 2nd- up up a major hill that even my old IH truck couldn't climb, even with 3 old engine blocks 2 transmissions and a 1/2 ton of sand in back. Oh the Third - Snows drifts over the hood of the car. Tried, tried again. We'd got though one and face another higher. Stop and clean the snow off the front of the car so it wouldn't over heat. Finally the problem become just getting back home. Shovel out a few feet behind - then a few more backward and backup and shovel out a few more feet back - till we could get headed back out through own tracks. Hum - I wonder what prompted that ? Sometimes I forget how close to the surface those memories still are.
