Been a busy day – I just couldn’t stand the mess on the patio and courtyard any longer. It looks pretty good now, all things considered. Not to my usual standard but good enough you can come by and I’ll light a fire and we’ll visit. The slick concrete got me once- an OK fall- slow and controlled on a slope. I may report back in the morning on the longer term results (chuckle). Kidding – I’m good to go BUT I need some different shoes for those undertakings. (chuckle) And those undertakings are more frequent due to the regular rains we’ve had and expect.
A break and I thought “what now, old son?” My answer to that was “a shower and fresh cloths required.” Accomplished ! Now What ? I try to support local businesses as much as I can and we have a local cider brewery newly opened. I’ve tried to check it out before but conditions opposed the effort. This evening I success-ed. Now I’ve sipped some hard cider before once or twice (chuckle) and liked it – but flavored cider spiced with things I couldn’t pronounce let along spell – Atmosphere – zip. NO music at all, food from a truck parked out front, etc. OK give them a while and I’ll check it out again but. . .
OK all dressed up and no place to go. . . Ha Ha Ha – There’s the Legion or VFW with in a couple of blocks. Either is OK but that decision is easy – to the Legion I go. My only concern “Who did I miss saying “Hey” to and lots of hugs when I came & went. Ha Ha Ha Since we all had come in from a late AZ afternoon with the sun shining brightly into the classic Legion bar – most know that us old timers can’t see much for a while. Well, a fine hour = 1 small pitcher for me and for me it’s “home again.”
Then I remembered I hadn’t eaten much today and my tummy was reminding me of it. Not a problem – Thanks to my Dear Wis. friends. Wow -I feasted – and - Maybe – one more time YET! Hopefully !
Now it’s old time Country - Western and a sip of brew WITH a good book. Good Night folks – Midwestern folks- STAY HOME ! It’s a winter storm out there.
