Greetings, salutations and collaborations. Well it seems I lit a fire in B.H., unintentionally as it was. Not enough to melt the ice and snow etc. but enough get some folks blood moving a little faster and tempers flaring. Whoops I may be doing it again. What’s with folks today ? Quick to be offended & insulted even after an explanation and apology. Good thing I never tried being a comedian or story teller I guess. Frankly that ain’t news to me or I’d probably already have given that a run for it’s money too. It would have been a short run I’m sure. (chuckle)
My buddy & mobile mechanic heeded my call and came by this afternoon. He got his coolant system pressure tester out and located my problem immediately. Not a major problem once diagnosed near impossible without the tester AND a very bright light. Well I was half equipped – I have very bright lights but needed the other ALSO. We did identify a few other issues on the Scout that need attention. None of earth shaking surprise considering it’s 40 years old. Engine mounts failing rapidly along with body mounts. Body mounts I knew about but engine mounts . . . He said he’d load up his engine hoist and drop it by – best and easiest way to lift an engine (to change mounts) without risk. I knew that but I haven’t had one for . . . a very long time. It’s all doable and parts are available. He and I are meeting for breakfast and then going to Bill & Dawn’s for him to find and remove what is reported to be the last bolt that Bill can’t find to access the heater core in his Lincoln. Jerry said he’d find it and leave things so Bill could put it back together. That’s all Bill needs – I’m envious of Bill’s recall and memory of detail stuff. Never EVER possessed that myself - EVER. He is going to need it -
All in all a pretty good day. So Then – I thought “what now Crusty?” Too early to call it a day totally and the sun would still be up for a while – Hey I haven’t been to the Legion for nearly a week! That problem solved – just head home before dark. Headlight problems on the Merc. Remain. Problems tend to remain or increase when left unaddressed I’ve discovered. (chuckle). I had noticed a very large and nice Rose bloom behind the Lemon tree and thought I want to give that to someone who will want it. OK I will. I’ve mentioned that all the bartenders at the Legion are top drawer in my book and thought I don’t know who is tending this evening (shoot I had to check my phone calendar to know what day of the week it was) but they are getting that Rose. If you like the aroma of Rose blooms, that was a winner! 4“ in diameter and a refreshing scent in even or especially in a Legion bar. Ha Ha Ha
Got some book time left before my eyes start to close without my permission.
