The News From Here

Got home today after a short visit with Bill & Dawn and helping Bill "try" to patch the tarp for their outside eating area to find my outside cooler wouldn't come on. Started checking and found that nothing else would either- next checked the Electric meter - nothing. Went next door and checked their meter and a couple more. Nope - next looked around and saw the traffic lights weren't working in any direction! Ha Ha Ha Long story made (a little) shorter ALL the power in old town Mesa-OUT Checked my thermostat and saw it was at 89. That's only a degree warmer than I leave it so. . . it hadn't been off too long. DID NOT open a fridge door. My freezer didn't have anything of great value but more than I wanted to replace Unnecessarily. OK I'm ready for a cold one - headed to the Legion and walked in and - guess what - Talk about DARK after being out in afternoon sun in AZ and walk into a totally dark bar. Yep! 2/3's of a bar full with a dozen candles lighting the bar and no AC. Crazy time - laugh - joke and then go look for more candles. The new bartender working with a flashlight ! Even the cash register doesn't work either - I don't think they made any money this afternoon but most everyone was mostly covering their drinks as served. Lots of "HEY that was a $100 bill" & laughing!
