Obviously I survived the 4th. Actually it was very good in fact. I over ate, visited and had two beers and I thought OK! I think I’ll head home. In fact I DID head home and got all the way inside the fence and almost in the back door and thought NO, NOT YET! I like ‘home’ usually but. . . Sometimes. . . Well you know what I’m saying. The Legion had had a BBQ earlier and some folks remained. It wasn’t packed (thankfully) but those who were there were fun & interesting. All in all a fine holiday as far as holidays go it was excellent.
Today I got out to do some errands and was headed home and thought “I wonder who is at the Legion “ You knew where that was going didn’t ya?
Along the way for the last few days I’ve been driving the Scout quite a bit, preparation for emissions testing AND when I opened the door I would spray PB Blaster (penetrating oil) on each of the screws that I have been unable to remove in preparation of addressing the worn out body mounts. When I got home I gave each one another spray and noticed one was working it’s way out by it’s self! I’d tried before but I wasn’t so persistent. I’ll confess that I was counting on Jerry to help on this job. Lots of parts of it ya really need someone to watch what’s going on from another angle or is it high enough yet or can I let it down a little now? And the often used “What the Heck do I do now?” Well it ‘ain’t a goin to be that way this time’. May take a while alone and probably won’t be without a few “OK I’m done – maybe tomorrow.” I pretty much rely on those for a lot of things all the while reminding myself that if tomorrow doesn’t materialize as we expect then I wasted a lot of time and effort worrying about it. . .
