Busy day- 1st to VA at 8:00 AM. All the results were well below concern range. I wish I could take some credit for all those good readings from the lab work last week but I can’t, I will accept them as they were reported, especially the Cholesterol reading. I was urged to make an appointment with my dermo. Doc- which I did to get another spot eradicated from my arm.
There’s that noise again! Yep I recognize it this time- it’s raining as it did this morning on my drive to VA. A nice rain- gentle and NO WIND or DUST so far.
Later on I went to the local Social Security office– mistake or good call – who knows. . . (Only The Good Lord and I’ll try to leave it in His Hands.) I’d been meaning to do it and I did.
Hey – Maybe the continued showers will wash the rest of the dust/dirt away- It COULD happen. (chuckle)
Tomorrow morning I’m to meet Kurt for breakfast. IT IS my turn to buy (chuckle). Some things are hard to grasp like all those years ago when I called on him in his office in downtown Scottsdale. I don’t have a whole lot of friends but I DO have some great ones.
The other evening I started another tail of “Characters.” This time it was Ken Henderson. If I continue with it, I’ll post it somewhere and let ya know where.
Whoops – that’s always interesting- I’d neglected to pull the plugs to the shop wiring. Everything is pretty well done & protected but yet pulling plugs while on wet concrete is not recommended by most licensed electricians (chuckle) which I never was to be BUT even I don’t recommend it.
Am I winding down yet?
I guess not- I just noticed a tape measure laying here- from “Colonial.” That is Colonial Bakery that once was in downtown Alton IL and my employer. The tape measure was to measure shelf space in customers stores with the intend to GET MORE OF IT. I worked there long enough to go from thrift store clerk to vacation route salesman to having a route. My route was on an edge of Granite City to Madison to Venice to Brooklyn to “Little Park Acres” Illinois. These were not up and coming cities – they were down and out ghettos. Yet there were some fine people along the way – some I re-visited a few times after leaving Colonial. I even met a man who remembered the Civil War. Pretty cool – other times not so much cool.
But your daughter scored an amazing old table from your days there. It is one of my prized possessions.
