Friday’s Report- Breakfast with Kurt was as usual a great time of discussion, LOTS of discussion, maybe a tiny bit of B.S. along the way just to keep the wheels of discussion rolling along. Our kids usually take a high percentage of the time we have. A great trip report from me and a chance to relate some of the high-lights of it plus a couple “I wish I could have’s.” The highlights far over-powered the “I wish I could have’s.” The “wish I could haves” were tinged with optimism for next time. That always brings to mind an expression my Dad always used during a trip- “leave something for next time.” My Dad wasn’t very talkative but when he talked even I listened. Mostly. . . Hey I was a kid ! He rarely gave advice but when he said something needed “doing” I had no doubt he was expecting it to be done ASAP. Sure, I didn’t learn that right away – took a while (a kid, remember).
Oh Yeah- today- well I was busy till about 2:30 then a book sort of took over. Forced me out into the courtyard. While sitting in my outside recliner I noticed ants – ants on me, ants on the recliner & ants on the floor. Tiny little suckers – they aren’t welcome here. Most are so tiny I can barely see them as they transverse the floor. I know there are hills out in the yard but I can’t find them SO Ant killer on the concrete floor following their path and I have a pile of them to clean up AFTER all their relatives have a chance at the powder I spread. HERE ANT, OVER HERE IS THE GOOD STUFF.
Dump enough water on Bermuda grass over a few days and then wonder WHY on earth would I do THAT! Yep the grassy area in back is almost all green again. Oh Joy- OK I kid about it but in fact if its grass it’s supposed to be green and hush. I’m well on the way to cutting the grass twice a week already.
I suspect this constitutes my Friday night “social time.” I kept THINKING about getting cleaned up and going out- I guess, I’m not complaining yet I am amazed – who is this guy whose body I’m inhabiting NOW.
