Greetings Family, friends, neighbors and anyone wondering by “The News From Here.” Talk about your ‘slow news day’ I had one today. In-fact I’d take it a step further – It was a NO NEWS day.
I am glad to have the Mercury going again- AC is very nice when being sweaty and grubby isn’t my goal. Tomorrow is an International Harvester Scout day though. I ?think? I have what we need ready to load and ride in the morning. Kind of funny as I got a list of tools etc that he has but couldn’t find sooo. They downsized a while back and downsizing usually includes not being able to find things not used often. I’ve made two major downsizing moves in my life. I guess the cabin in the hill was most drastic but Sherry handled things like that with a manner I didn’t possess – If we don’t use it you can probably find it in the trash. Oh she had her things that had special meaning that went where ever we did but I was the ‘problem child.’ “Can’t throw it away – “I’ll need that again.” Now I’m really in a fix that way. I was going to clean out the basement this year and start junking stuff from the old office space – Neither has happened YET. Oh I’ve started a FEW times – not enough times apparently. . .
It was always much like my beginning to tackle the shade structures (portable carports) that the storms hit. Low and behold I noticed some 6’ tall fence slats that were ready to fall off- Hey I got THEM fixed about the sake time as I thought I “should just replace those sections a fence. I had snagged all the material I used by helping people get rid of their old fencing. Collect enough of it and you can make a fence. It may not look all that great but it’s lasted over ten years. Ha Ha Ha
Tomorrow I’m “consulting” with Kurt on his fence job – more storm damage. That usually means a lot of conversation and a little layout work and strategy discussion. Two references to B.S. and one of work – that’s about right I figure. Maybe a little generous?
