Where does the time go? No one has ever answered that -that I know of. Oh there have been opinions that time isn’t relative and lots of ideas, none that I know of hold up well.
I decided that I wasn’t up to getting under the Scout today and jacking up the engine to get to the motor mounts. I laid out the tools, had my foam pad laid down to cushion my bones from the old concrete – I don’t think a creeper is an answer in this case. I would have to increase the height of the Scout and how far I have to raise the engine by the added inches of a creeper. Well there’s that for sure but I have gotten my pony tail hung up in the creeper wheels a few times – That is not fun especially if I’m working alone. On a positive note I DID remember to flush out the radiator extra well. The bottom of the radiator is the lowest part of the coolant system so that’s where a lot ‘stuff’ accumulates. I got it flowing totally clean & clear- so it’s really ready. I’m really ready to have this phase DONE. The next phase (planned) is front brakes – rotors pads and maybe new lines. 40 year old brake lines don’t make me feel good especially with a trailer behind me. Even my little homemade open cargo trailer loaded with granite can be an exciting ride if it’s loaded with over a ton. (which has been the case a few times).
It was not a productive day but not bad – I finally got around to doing the dishes – Hey it’s been a while but I wasn’t OUT of dishes – I just didn’t like walking by the kitchen and seeing half the sink full – Ha Ha Ha Yeah Yeah it is a lot like laundry. Ain't never done totally.
