Having survived a day of VA improved patient care I’d like to suggest that ‘term limits’ might be extended to encompass a few others and maybe include physiological testing for upper management. Based on my experience don’t mess with the front line troops – they do a fine job but management is terrible. I can tell within minutes of arriving at a VA physicality what the stress level of the front line troops is (front line troops – those who you see and communicate with directly and in person). It all worked out but their “improved treatment procedures” (getting appointments) has degraded drastically and placed those ‘front line troops’ in a position to be looking for jobs.
Those embedded in the system or feel that they are invincible having been in office/position for years or . . . Did I mention ‘term limits’? (chuckle)
Result of the VA experience – I got an appointment to get an appointment to get an appointment. First step fairly timely. We’ll see.
A trip to the legion was an up/down experience. Same crap going on there. Oh Joy. Their efforts to make improvements are hindered by “you can’t do that!” OK I am ready for a good book and I’m sorry about venting here.
